A television adaptation of the beloved book series The Confessions of Georgia Nicolson by the late Louise Rennison is officially in development, with a pilot episode being produced for a major streaming platform.
From Bestselling Books to TV Screens
The series, which sold millions of copies worldwide, consists of 10 novels published between 1999 and 2009. It follows the life of 14-year-old Georgia Nicolson as she navigates family, friendships, romance, and adolescence in the UK. The first book, Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging, was previously adapted into the 2008 film Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging, starring Georgia Groome as Georgia, Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Robbie, and Eleanor Tomlinson as Jas.
Pilot Episode Details
The pilot will share the title of the first book and is being developed for an undisclosed major streaming platform. Casting director Rachel Sheridan, known for work on Netflix's One Day and BBC's Amandaland, issued a casting call on July 3, 2026. The call seeks adult actors who can convincingly portray 15- or 16-year-olds. Sheridan stated: "We're casting for a TV pilot for a major streamer: 'Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging' - based on the worldwide bestselling Confessions of Georgia Nicolson books! This is a really exciting opportunity for young people! Please share with anyone who might be interested!"
Production Timeline and Potential Release
Successful candidates must be available for filming from late September to October 2026. If the series is picked up beyond the pilot, they should be available from May 2027 to October 2027. Typically, a pilot serves as a proof of concept; if commissioned, it often becomes the first episode. Based on this schedule, a potential release could be in 2028, though no official confirmation has been made.
