Swansea Half Marathon 2026: Record Numbers and Fancy Dress

The Swansea Half Marathon made its return on Sunday, June 7, with a record number of athletes registered for the 12th edition of the event. Thousands of runners gathered under the Copper Bay Bridge for the 9am start, taking in five miles of stunning coastal views across Swansea Bay before completing the 13.1-mile course.

Scenic Route and Community Spirit

The route took participants past the historic Brangwyn Hall and Swansea Castle, along Mumbles Road to Knab Rock, and back on the Promenade toward Blackpill Lane for the finishing straight. Race Director Tash Smith of Front Runner Events said: "This event is about much more than 13.1 miles. The Mizuno Swansea Half Marathon has become a celebration of Swansea itself — the energy, the community spirit, the coastline and the incredible people who come together every year."

Charity and Fancy Dress

Hundreds of runners ran for causes including Cancer Research Wales, Shelter Cymru, Morgan's Army Prostate Cymru, and Wales Air Ambulance. Fancy dress added to the festive atmosphere, with participants dressing as Teletubbies, disco daredevils, and other creative outfits. Live music, entertainment zones, cheer stations, and a family fun run complemented the main race.
