Love Is Blind UK bride's dad says 'I'm gutted' in outburst moments before wedding
Love Is Blind UK dad's 'gutted' outburst before bride's wedding

The father of a Love Is Blind UK bride has admitted he is "absolutely f****** gutted" in an emotional outburst moments before her wedding.

On August 26, Netflix released the latest two episodes from Love Is Blind UK season three, which follow the remaining couples on their wedding days. After a turbulent journey, the moment of saying 'I do' has arrived as the couples are tasked with making a life-changing decision: marry the person they fell in love with in the pods, or walk away.

Dad's doubts before the aisle

Just moments before Sophie was due to walk down the aisle to meet partner Taylor, her dad Steve asked: "Are you ready for the real world?", to which she replied: "I am ready for the real world, yeah."

After a moment of hesitation, her dad continued: "I'm... well... I think you've rushed it. I think you can't know anybody in that space of time and I'm just scared of when all these people have gone, everything's gone, you're back to the real world. I'm just trying to look out for you. Are you moving to London, is he moving to Manchester?"

After Sophie admitted they weren't going to rush into anything, the answer did not satisfy Steve, who hit back: "But you, you are a married couple. I just want you to make the right decision. This is marriage, I just don't want to see you get hurt."

Family's private concerns

Later, Sophie's dad and brother were seen speaking in private as Steve went on to say: "I'm not happy about any of it. They don't know each other. They're in this world, in this bubble. I don't really know Taylor. We went for a curry for three hours, if he's going to stay in London I'm never going to get to know him."

Jamie, Sophie's brother, added: "It's just a TV show isn't it. I don't like reality TV."

The pair could then be seen speaking to producers as Steve admitted: "What I'm not happy about this experiment because that is, in my eyes that's all it is. I think it's just a pantomime. Take all this away then it's just them two. If you ask me the question 'am I happy', I'm happy for Sophie because she's happy, but me personally, I'm absolutely f***** gutted."

Bride's struggle and what's next

Sophie's mum Amanda also harboured some doubts as Sophie, from Greater Manchester, told the cameras: "All I can think about now is walking down the aisle knowing that my dad is struggling with how fast it's happened, and I just feel like I can't even think about anything else."

Whether Sophie and Taylor will say 'I do' remains to be seen. Netflix will also release a special reunion episode on August 30. Love Is Blind UK can be streamed on Netflix.
