Emmerdale death 'exposed' in huge wedding twist but not who you think

Emmerdale fans are convinced that Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) could be killed off in one of the soap's biggest weeks of the year, as the fallout from Dawn's escape plan intensifies.

Dawn Fletcher (Olivia Bromley) has been plotting her getaway from Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) after being told that her husband-to-be attacked her former partner, Billy, at the depot. However, it later emerged that the real culprit was Kev Barton (Chris Coghill). Billy has since discovered the truth and confronted the Miligans, but has not informed Dawn.

As a result, Dawn went to extreme lengths to flee Home Farm, even locking Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) in a barn. At the end of Monday's (August 24) episode, available on ITVX, Caleb Miligan (Will Ash) revealed his scheme to Joe in The Woolpack, while Dawn drove off with Billy and their children.

Fans predict Billy's fate

Numerous soap enthusiasts are convinced that Billy will meet his demise in what has been billed as one of the biggest weeks of the year for the ITV soap. Earlier reports suggested that Olivia Bromley and Nick Miles, who portray Dawn and Jimmy King, were departing the Dales, but it is another resident that has left viewers concerned.

One person wrote on X (formerly Twitter): "Jimmy and Dawn are [rumoured to be] leaving but which one of them is going to get killed later in the week, or is there a Billy death twist coming up?" Another added: "They better not kill my Billy off," while a third said: "Really feels like Billy may be on the way out... so many interactions with people he hasn't seen in ages."

A fourth viewer echoed: "I'm going to predict that Billy will be a shock death and that Dawn's exit isn't actually for a while yet." Someone else commented: "The calm before the storm for Dawn and Billy."

Scheduling shake-up

Emmerdale was taken off air on Tuesday (August 25) to accommodate live football coverage, meaning fans will need to wait longer to discover whether Dawn and Billy return to the village. An additional instalment will air on Sunday evening (August 30).

Viewers voiced frustrations over the scheduling change, with one fan writing: "Brilliant start to the week. Fuming the football tomorrow is halting the momentum of their big week." Another commented: "Ready for the big week. Shame it's not on tomorrow because of b***** football."

Emmerdale airs weekday nights at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
