Maggie Driscoll (Pauline McLynn) is left feeling down in the dumps after a disappointing sex session with neighbour Brian Packham (Peter Gunn) in Coronation Street.
Maggie's search for a new man
Maggie, the woman who pushed her husband down the stairs, decides it's time to find a new man in Weatherfield. Flashbacks revealed she pushed her husband Alan to his death after a blazing row, a secret she has kept from her son Ben Driscoll (Aaron McCusker) all these years.
She also never told Ben that his biological father is actually Jim McDonald (Charlie Lawson), making him Steve McDonald's (Simon Gregson) brother. Despite her manipulative ways, Maggie wants a bit of fun.
An underwhelming night
Next week, Ben and Ollie Driscoll's (Raphael Akuwudike) chat is interrupted when they realise Brian is coming down the stairs. As a dishevelled Brian stands awkwardly, the family are stunned to see Maggie enter the scene.
While Brian works on a plan to charm Maggie, she tells Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley) about her night. Unfortunately for Brian, it was underwhelming, and Maggie doesn't plan on repeating it.
Avoiding Brian
Maggie finds it difficult to tell Brian she isn't interested, and Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger) later works out that she's avoiding him. Whether Maggie will sort things out before Brian gets ahead of himself remains to be seen.
