Big Brother US Race Row: Contestants Criticised for 'Ghetto' Skin Colour Comments

The latest series of Big Brother in the United States has sparked a race row after two contestants made disparaging comments about skin colour during a live feed.

Angela Rummans and Rachel Swindler were heard complaining about their tanned skin, with Angela describing it as looking 'ghetto'. Rachel added: 'I will change ethnicity. I mean, I already have, basically.'

The comments were met with widespread criticism on social media, with viewers calling out the women for their remarks.

CBS, the network airing the show, issued a statement distancing itself from the comments. A spokesperson said: 'Big Brother is a reality show about watching a group of people who have no privacy 24/7 - and capturing every unfiltered moment and conversation in their lives. At times, the housemates reveal prejudices and exhibit behaviour that we do not condone.'

The producers confirmed that those involved had been warned about their inappropriate behaviour and that the incidents would not be included in future broadcasts.
