On 16 July 2025, Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot attended a Coldplay concert in Boston, where they were caught on the kiss cam cuddling and then jumping apart in horror. The brief clip, uploaded by a fellow concert-goer, went viral, sparking months of public fascination.
Byron, the married CEO of software company Astronomer, and Cabot, the head of HR, became targets of widespread mockery and scrutiny. The video was parodied by US baseball teams, including the Philadelphia Phillies mascot, and featured on TV shows such as Stephen Colbert's Late Show and Strictly Come Dancing. Brands like Duolingo, Ikea, and Nando's also capitalised on the moment.
Byron resigned from Astronomer shortly after the incident. Reports in November indicated he sold his $5.8m Manhattan apartment, with the deed suggesting he remains with his wife. He was also photographed with his wife in Maine in September.
Cabot spoke to the New York Times, revealing she received 500 to 600 calls daily, along with death threats and insults about her appearance. She reiterated that she had separated from her husband weeks before the concert, and that her ex-husband attended the same concert with a date.
