Cast frontman John Power has revealed whether the band will be at Knebworth with Oasis next year. Fans of the mega band are eagerly awaiting official confirmation that Liam and Noel Gallagher will once again be hitting the road next year.
It's expected that the two brothers will be performing 12 nights at their beloved Manchester City ground, the Etihad Stadium, and will also return to Knebworth for six nights. Concert promoter SJM Concerts was recently granted a new events license for Knebworth House.
Supporting Oasis Live '25
But after supporting the band on their mammoth Oasis Live '25 tour last year, which he says was like a "communion," John Power has now revealed whether he'll be back on stage next year. Acting coy, John said: "Is that happening though?"
Speaking to Chris Moyles on Radio X, John added: "There's a lot of rumours. I've been in this industry long enough to know that rumours are rumours, aren't they?" He went on to add that he's "hopeful" he'll be on the guest list for a show.
A 'communion' on tour
But when asked if he thought being a guest would be bittersweet, having supported Oasis last year, he responded: "We went out for 23 shows. I was like, right, okay, you're gotta have to let this go. Because I was - we were nearly in the band!
"You know, you never get over your first love." John, who with his Cast bandmates and Richard Ashcroft got the crowd ready for the comeback of the century last year, said the tour was a huge experience for all involved.
He commented: "Every night we would go and watch the bands, right? And every night I would sing my heart out to all the songs. I knew them from when they first came out, but there was just something about the vibe.
"There was just something about it, a communion, a gathering. It became a happening more than a concert. And I think we needed it, you know?"
John continued: "You know, the world is chaotic and it's quite a scary place out there. Sometimes you just need to gather the tribes and sing a song together. That's what happened that summer, and it was very special."
Teasing from Liam and ticket news
In recent days, Liam himself has been teasing fans on social media about the upcoming dates, with messages such as "Manifestation for the nation". And while he's not specifically confirmed anything, he did imply that confirmation is not too far away.
On Monday, one fan asked: "Do you not want us to be excited?" and Liam quipped back: "Yes, of course, be excited, smash things up. But these things take time to announce if they're getting announced. I'm all for announcing things if they need to be announced but just coz you got something to announce doesn’t mean you should announce."
He later replied to another fan: "I don't know why everyone is rushing around, it's making me anxious, chill the f**k out." Sources close to the band have confirmed to the Mirror that the band plans to play the Etihad Stadium, most likely beginning in June. They will then return to Knebworth, the scene of their biggest-ever gigs, later in the year, with weekend slots, most likely in September.
Full confirmation of the tour and ticket prices is now just weeks away. The Mirror understands that any official announcement about tickets for the 2027 shows is being held back whilst the new documentary Oasis: Don’t Look Back In Anger is publicised and promoted.
The London Premiere takes place on September 7, and so tickets may well go on sale after this date or after the promotion has finished. Both Noel and Liam are expected at the London premiere and the World premiere at the Venice Film Festival.
