The popular Seaham Food Festival is set to return on August 1-2, bringing a lineup of celebrity chefs, food stalls, and live music to the County Durham coast. Hosted by Durham County Council, the event will take place on Seaham seafront around North Terrace and the Tommy sculpture.
Headliner and Celebrity Chefs
BBC Saturday Kitchen star Matt Tebbutt will be the headline attraction, returning to the region after appearing at Bishop Auckland Food Festival in 2024. He will join other familiar faces in the Cookery Theatre across both days.
Saturday's special guests include Bake Off: The Professionals' Cherish Finden, chef Cyrus Todiwala, and MasterChef winner Shelina Permalloo. Sunday's lineup features Matt Tebbutt, master chocolatier Oliver Dunn (Oli the Choc), and Italian chef Francesco Mattana. Chris Bavin will present both days.
Traders and Food
Over 120 food and drink traders will offer street food, pop-up bars, and retail stalls. Offerings include Geordie Banger Co, Fire & Dough, Redheads Mac n Cheese, Hatch76, Acropolis Street Food, Spud Gun, Armenian Family Street Kitchen, The Little Poffertje Pancake Shack, and Churros Barcelona.
Live Music and Entertainment
Free live music will feature The Lake Poets, Easington Colliery Band, and other acts. Saturday's lineup includes Ani Sandwith, Mcxxne, The Lake Poets, Staithe, and Easington Colliery Band. Sunday's performers are Isabel Maria, Hels Pattison, Steve Pledger, and Mick Arnell & The Kets. Children's activities include willow crafts and dinosaur-themed attractions.
Timings and Location
The festival runs 10am to 5pm on Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday. Councillor Karen Allison noted the variety of culinary expertise, saying: 'The expertise and range of culinary variety on display means there will be something for everyone, with people able to enjoy tastes from around the world.'
