Liverpool City Region is preparing for an extraordinary summer filled with international sport, live music, cultural events, and major attractions. From stadium concerts and high-profile sporting fixtures to festivals, family activities, and free events, the city is set to welcome hundreds of thousands of visitors over the coming months.

Music Highlights

Music lovers can look forward to a stellar lineup, including concerts at Anfield Stadium featuring Zach Bryan (12 June), Foo Fighters (25 and 27 June), and My Chemical Romance (30 June). The On the Waterfront series at Liverpool Pier Head (18–21 June) will showcase Snow Patrol, Paul Weller, Cream Classical, and Red Rum Club. Africa Oyé returns to Sefton Park (20–21 June), while Salt and Tar Weekender in Bootle (14–17 August) features The Waterboys, Billy Ocean, The Saw Doctors, and Nile Rodgers & Chic. Lewis Capaldi headlines In the Park Liverpool on 15 August. Creamfields celebrates its 20th anniversary in Daresbury (27–30 August), and the International Beatleweek Festival runs from 26 August to 1 September.

Sporting Events

Sporting highlights include the England Lionesses facing Ukraine in a FIFA Women's World Cup Qualifier at Hill Dickinson Stadium (9 June). Rugby League Magic WKND takes place at the same venue (4–5 July), followed by Fiji v England in the Nations Championship (11 July). The Open Championship returns to Royal Birkdale (12–19 July), and Upper Deck Golf is at Hill Dickinson Stadium (16–19 July).

Culture and Heritage

Cultural offerings include Moulin Rouge! The Musical at the Liverpool Empire Theatre (2 July–8 August), the Minton Tile Floor Reveal at St George's Hall (17 July–2 September), and the exhibition May Morris: Crafting a Legacy (25 April–1 November). The International Festival of Glass takes place in St Helens (27–31 August).

Family and Regional Events

Family-friendly events include the We Are Wirral Festival in Birkenhead Park (18–19 July), Southport Flower Show (20–23 August), Southport Air Show (29–30 August), and the British Musical Fireworks Championships (26–27 September).
