The new Oasis documentary about the band's reunion tour will premiere at the Venice Film Festival, with both Liam and Noel Gallagher planning to attend.
Venice Film Festival Lineup
The 83rd Venice Film Festival announced this year's lineup, with artistic director Alberto Barbera launching the event at the Biennale Library in Venice. Among the new films is Don't Look Back In Anger, directed by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight.
Sources close to the project have told The Mirror that both Gallagher brothers are set to attend the screening, along with director Knight. The film is then expected to have a London premiere days later, before its cinema release on September 11. It will also stream on Disney+ later in the year.
Documentary Preview
Fans got a sneak preview on July 4 - exactly a year after the Oasis Live 25 tour launched in Cardiff - when the first trailer dropped. It showed the brothers heading to rehearsals after not speaking for 16 years following a backstage bust-up.
"I just don't see myself on stage with Liam. I just don't see it," Noel, 59, says in the preview. Liam, 53, adds: "The way it finished – unacceptable."
The film charts the Oasis Live '25 reunion tour, described as "an unapologetically uplifting account" of one of the biggest musical events of 2025. It includes unseen rehearsals, backstage conversations, and the first joint interviews with Noel and Liam in over 25 years.
Director's Comments
Director Steven Knight said: "I genuinely cannot wait for the world to see this film. I believe it captures the spirit and emotion of a global cultural moment and does justice to the wit and genius of two exceptional people."
He added: "I wanted to tell the story of the brothers and the band, but just as important, the story of the fans whose lives the music has touched and sometimes changed forever."
Venue and Rumours
The 83rd Venice International Film Festival, organised by the Venice Biennale and directed by Alberto Barbera, will take place at the Venice Lido from September 2 to 12, 2026.
There are unconfirmed rumours about more Oasis shows next year, including a possible 12-night residency at Manchester City's Etihad Stadium in May and June 2027, as well as dates at Knebworth.
