Zara McDermott has revealed that a combination of haircare products from Olaplex and L'Oreal, including a shampoo from £3.25, helped her hair grow several inches in just two months.
The documentary maker shared on Instagram: “Guys my hair growth the past few months has been INSANE! I’ve been using pretty much all Olaplex and then L’Oreal Hydra Pure / Glycolic gloss ranges.” She posted side-by-side photos showing her hair cut to armpit length and then appearing almost waist-length.
She explained: “I got it cut in late June and I was a bit gutted with how short it was.” Two months later, she credited the two brands for the noticeable difference.

While Zara did not list every product she uses, previously shared items include the Olaplex No.3 Plus Complete Repair Treatment, currently £30.24 for 100ml at LookFantastic, which prevents damage and breakage. She has also praised the Olaplex No.7 Bonding Oil, now £39 for a 60ml jumbo bottle, which adds shine and reduces split ends.
From the L'Oreal Paris Elvive Hydra Pure range, shampoo and conditioner are available from £3.25 for 250ml. They contain hyaluronic acid and salicylic acid to reduce oil build-up while keeping hair hydrated.

Zara has also previously praised the L'Oréal Paris Elvive Glycolic Gloss 5 Minute Lamination Treatment at £16.99, which hydrates, strengthens and seals strands.
While genetics, diet and health affect hair growth, the strengthening, repairing and hydrating properties of these products likely helped prevent damage and breakage, allowing her hair to reach its maximum potential.
