Channel 4 is set to uncover “shocking revelations” about a woman’s disappearance 35 years ago. Originally airing on Prime Video back in 2023, The Never Ending Murder is ready to make its debut on Channel 4 with the first of four episodes shown tonight, Wednesday, August 26, at 10pm.
Case of Nicola Payne
The upcoming true crime doc revolves around 18-year-old mum Nicola Payne from Coventry who vanished in 1991 in the lead-up to Christmas. Describing what happened, the synopsis states that the teenager left the home she shared “with her partner and young son to go and visit her parents.” It then claims: “But she never makes it to her mum and dad’s. Her disappearance sparks a widespread police investigation and detectives quickly turn up two suspects whose story is full of holes”.
This four-part special will delve into the “tragic case that prompted a high-profile police investigation and extensive media interest”. Channel 4 viewers will see key evidence re-examined, highlight failing from the original investigation, as well as uncover “shocking new revelations”.
Unsolved crime
Unfortunately, as of writing this article, Nicola Payne was never heard from again. Her case currently stands as “one of the biggest unsolved crimes in British criminal history”.
Some of the “revelations” discussed in the true crime series put into question “whether Nicola will ever be found”.
Broadcast details
Episodes one and two will be shown consecutively this evening, Wednesday, August 26, from 10pm. Fans won’t have to wait very long to find out how the series plays out though with episodes three and four scheduled to air tomorrow, Thursday, August 27, in the same timeslot.
