Beadnell Bay Set for TV Stardom in BBC Drama

Beadnell Bay in Northumberland, currently ranked 13th in Trip Advisor's England beach rankings, has been used as a filming location for the new BBC crime drama The Northumbria Mysteries. The bay, described by visitors as 'stunning' and 'perfect', is set to attract more visitors following its TV appearance.

Filming Locations and Cast

The series stars Geordie actor Robson Green as Joe Ruby, an ex-convict and gambler with links to the criminal world. He teams up with Oxford-educated DI Rose O'Connell, played by Life on Mars actress Liz White, to solve crimes. Filming began in April, with locations including Morpeth, Alnwick, and Rothbury. Last week, the crew was spotted at The Red Lion pub in Earsdon and at Beadnell Bay.

Robson Green's Connection

Robson Green is no stranger to Beadnell, having previously snorkelled there for his show Weekend Escape. On Saturday morning, he confirmed that filming had wrapped on The Northumbria Mysteries and told fans to 'watch this space' for news on when it will air.
