Zendaya has addressed why she remains tight-lipped about whether she and Tom Holland have married, following speculation sparked by her stylist's claim at the 2026 Actor Awards.
During an appearance on The New York Times's Modern Love podcast with her The Drama co-star Robert Pattinson, the 29-year-old actress explained her approach to the rumours. 'I just feel like for me there is a level of parasocial investment in my personal relationship, which I understand,' she said.
The Euphoria star acknowledged that she and Holland have grown up in the public eye and starred in films where they portray love interests. However, she emphasised her desire to keep certain aspects of their relationship private. 'I'm also a very private person, and I try my best to be able to have things for myself and for him as well,' she added.
Zendaya clarified that she and Holland are not hiding their relationship but are preserving 'things for ourselves so that we can maintain that joy just within ourselves' and their close circle. She noted that she hears the gossip but maintains 'my own little boundaries of what I like to bring up and talk about'.
The couple got engaged in 2025 after four years of dating. They first met while auditioning for 2017's Spider-Man: Homecoming. Zendaya recalled feeling 'really peaceful' around Holland, which confirmed he was 'my person'.
