Will Reeve, the son of the late actor Christopher Reeve, has revealed that he was diagnosed with testicular cancer this year. The Good Morning America anchor said he was left "stunned" after his diagnosis, having initially believed that his lump would be "nothing".
Discovery and diagnosis
Will, whose mother was the late Dana Reeve, said he noticed a small, tender lump on one of his testicles in April while showering. His wife, Amanda, later encouraged him to seek medical advice, as well as an ultrasound scan.
Will said that his diagnosis and treatment brought back memories of his mother, Dana, undergoing treatment for lung cancer. Dana died aged 44 in March 2006.
Treatment and future plans
In May this year, the news anchor underwent an orchidectomy to remove the cancerous testicle and used a sperm bank to ensure that he and wife Amanda could have children in the future.
