Wayne Lineker Defends 'Cringe' Advert for Young Girlfriend

Wayne Lineker, the 58-year-old nightlife entrepreneur and brother of Gary Lineker, has refused to apologise after posting an Instagram advert seeking a much younger girlfriend. The club owner described the post as 'funny' and 'just banter', despite widespread criticism.

In the advert, Lineker specified he wanted a woman aged around 30, who can cook, is willing to give up her career, and has no 'baggage'. He said a partner his own age would 'look weird'. The post also demanded the woman be a 'worldie', like house music and Netflix, and never have shared a teeth whitening post.

After facing backlash, Lineker shared a screenshot of a fan-made 'Wayne Lineker apology page', laughing off the controversy. 'Thing is here is that I ain't sorry it was a funny post and I'm proud of it,' he wrote. 'Was just banter #theend #iaintsorry #love.'

Lineker's criteria also included that the woman must be prepared to spend summers in Ibiza and winters in Dubai, with holidays to the Maldives. He promised to get her verified on social media and share access to his Bentley and Lamborghini. The post concluded with a requirement that she 'be intelligent but not boring'.
