Vicky Pattison has revealed she received a backstage 'pep talk' from Strictly Come Dancing legend Angela Rippon at the weekend, as fans grew concerned the TV personality might be eliminated from the show.
The Newcastle-born star and her professional partner Kai Widdrington performed a Charleston during Movie Week, but preparations were hampered by illness, forcing them to miss an appearance on It Takes Two. Vicky also suffered cuts to her face after her dog Max greeted her enthusiastically.
Despite scoring two 7s from judges Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke, Vicky and Kai's total of 25 out of 40 left them third from bottom on the leaderboard. Vicky admitted she found the Charleston difficult due to its speed, and the judges noted a lack of 'swivel' in her performance.
After the show, Vicky shared a photo on Instagram with Angela Rippon, who danced with Kai in 2023, writing: 'Highlight of my week HAD to be getting a pep talk from the one and only ANGELA RIPPON!!!'
Vicky and Kai faced an anxious wait to discover if they had avoided the dance-off, but were eventually called safe as Balvinder Sopal and Ross King landed in the bottom two, with Ross being sent home.
