Vernon Kay has publicly shown his support for Tess Daly, despite the couple announcing their split just weeks ago after 22 years of marriage. The BBC Radio 2 star commented on Tess's Instagram post as she headed to Greece to shoot a campaign for her swimwear brand, Naia Beach.
Background on the Split
The Bolton and Stockport-born stars confirmed their separation in May with a joint statement on Instagram Stories, ahead of their 23rd wedding anniversary in September. The statement read: "After much consideration, and with a deep sense of care and respect for one another, we have made the decision to separate amicably. This has not been an easy choice, but it comes from a place of mutual understanding and a shared desire for what is best for both of us."
Tess, 57, and Vernon, 52, added: "We remain great friends and most importantly, fully committed to our roles as loving and supportive parents, which will always be our priority."
Family Moments Post-Split
Weeks after the announcement, the couple reunited to celebrate their youngest child Amber's 17th birthday. Tess shared a video of a butterfly-themed cake with '17' candles, captioning it: "17 years of loving you Amber."
Vernon's Support for Tess's Business
On June 16, Tess shared photos from Greece, where she is working on the SS27 collection for Naia Beach, a brand she co-founded in 2021 with friend Gayle Lawton. She wrote: "Touched down in the beautiful Greece to shoot our @Naia_Beach SS27 collection. 3 models, 8 suitcases of new pieces, 4 days to capture it all, and endless inspiration from the beautiful island of Lefkada…!"
Vernon commented: "Absolutely rocking!!! Every woman needs to experience the @naia_beach vibe!!"
Tess's New York Trip
Earlier, Tess was seen enjoying New York City with her eldest daughter Phoebe, 21, who moved to the US earlier this year. Tess shared photos of drinks with Manhattan views and bagel spots, captioning: "NYC with my best girls #HelloGorgeous." Phoebe replied: "LOVE YOU the best time everrrr," while Vernon added: "What a few days."
