Trump Struggles to Speak, Hides Hand in Macron Meeting

US president Donald Trump was accused of “losing his voice” as he struggled to speak live on camera during a meeting with French president Emmanuel Macron on Monday, June 15. The world leaders met after Trump was spotted “falling asleep” during a UFC fight at the White House to celebrate his 80th birthday. A strange handshake between them led fans to believe Trump was trying to “cover up” his bruised right hand.

Trump’s Voice and Handshake Concerns

“So I want to congratulate the president. Last night, Cyril Gane won the fight against a great fighter… supposed to be unbeatable. I will say, Cyril is from France. Did you watch the fight?” Trump asked Macron, adding, “Oh, it was a great fight. It was a great evening at the White House.”

Trump held his hand at an almost vertical angle as he shook with Macron for the cameras, but eagle-eyed fans were sure they still spotted dark bruises spreading across the back.

Social Media Reactions

One X user tweeted: “Wait a minute, What kind of diplomatic handshake is this? Can someone explain it to me?” As another echoed: “Hiding that hand for his dear life.” Somebody else said: “His eyes are barely open. He looks like he needs a nap more than usual.” Another remarked: “Buddy is about to fall asleep standing.”

Others commented on Trump’s hoarse voice – presumably from cheering at the match on June 14. One said: “Trump, meeting with Macron, is losing his voice and talking about UFC.” Another added: “Dude spent 90% sleeping, how is he losing his voice?!” “Macron found the mute button but it was too late!” someone else joked.
