Tommy Fury's Nephew-in-Law Stumbles Over Baby Midas's Name

Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague may have only just unveiled their newborn son’s unusual name, but one member of the extended Fury family is already struggling with the pronunciation.

Fans were left in stitches after 16-year-old Venezuela Fury’s husband, Noah, 18, appeared to make an awkward blunder while discussing Tommy and Molly-Mae’s new arrival during a TikTok Live.

The couple announced their baby boy’s name in typically dramatic fashion on Saturday night, unveiling it on Tommy’s boxing shorts as he stepped into the ring for his highly anticipated fight against Eddie Hall. The word ‘Midas’ glittered on the front of his shorts, bringing weeks of speculation to an end.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting the reveal ever since Molly-Mae gave birth to the couple’s second child earlier this month, making three-year-old Bambi a big sister. The name Midas, which was inspired by the mythological Greek king whose touch turned everything to gold, has sparked plenty of debate among fans since it was announced.

However, when a viewer asked Noah (who is Tyson Fury’s son-in-law, making Tommy his uncle-in-law as Tommy and Tyson are half-brothers, which means Venezuela is Midas’ cousin) whether he had met the newborn, he seemed less than certain about how to say the name. He replied that he hadn’t yet met the baby, before being interrupted by Venezuela in the background, who asked who he was talking about. Noah then clarified: ‘Me-das. Tommy’s girl. Tommy’s boy – is it a boy?’

The exchange quickly found its way onto social media, where fans admitted they would probably have made exactly the same mistake.

‘To be fair I never heard the name either and said pretty much the same thing 😂😂 me-das,’ one person commented. Another suggested: ‘They should of spelt it Mydas.’

Others pointed out that Noah’s pronunciation wasn’t necessarily wrong, with one fan writing: ‘To be fair that’s how it is pronounced in many places I think in Greek too originally.’

‘I said it like that first as well,’ another admitted, while one viewer simply joked: ‘miiiii das.’

Many fans were more amused than embarrassed on Noah’s behalf, with one writing: ‘😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Noah makes me laugh.’

The moment comes after Molly-Mae and Tommy finally revealed their son’s name to fans, weeks after welcoming the baby and keeping details under wraps. The former Love Island stars have never shied away from unusual baby names. Their daughter Bambi’s moniker raised eyebrows when it was first announced in 2023, before becoming one of the most talked-about celebrity baby names in recent years.

Venezuela officially married Noah in May, with the teen bride wearing an enormous fishtail gown complete with a dramatic 50-foot train as she said her vows at the Victorian Royal Chapel of St. John’s near the Tyson family home on the Isle of Man.

The wedding came after the pair got engaged during Venezuela’s 16th birthday celebrations last year, with their whirlwind romance already becoming a central storyline in the family’s Netflix reality series At Home with the Furys.

It followed months of online debate surrounding Venezuela’s age, with critics questioning the decision for the teenager to marry so young. Both Venezuela and her mother Paris have repeatedly defended the engagement, pointing to Traveler traditions and Paris’s own early marriage to Tyson.

‘Me and Tyson have been together for 20 years, and we couldn’t be happier,’ Paris previously said.
