TV chef Tom Kerridge is set to return to ITV with a new Italian food programme titled Tom Kerridge Cooks Italy. The 52-year-old Michelin-starred chef will travel across Italy in a vintage food truck, meeting growers and producers of key ingredients.
Exploring Italy's Culinary Treasures
The series, which premieres in mid-July, will see Kerridge visit regions such as Sicily, Calabria, Puglia, the Northern Dolomites, and Emilia-Romagna. He will delve into the production of items like pasta, blood oranges, Calabrian chilis, passata, truffles, and chestnuts, cooking a recipe from the local produce in each location.
Kerridge expressed his excitement, stating: "I'm super-excited and chuffed to be on my food travels again. This time we're heading to Italy, where I've discovered so many great producers, farmers, and suppliers with some of the most wonderful, simple but outstanding products. Italian food isn't just a cuisine – it's a religion – dishes aren't just cooked, they are a lived experience. I'm looking forward to showing viewers what I've created and sharing some accessible recipes that everybody can use to bring a taste of Italy into their homes."
Previous Series and Career Highlights
The new show follows Tom Kerridge Cooks Britain (2024) and Tom Kerridge Cooks Spain (last year). Kerridge has also served as a judge on BBC's Great British Menu, having competed on the show in 2010 and 2011. He has hosted numerous programmes focusing on pubs, health, and the hospitality industry.
Among his renowned restaurants, Kerridge owns The Hand And Flowers and The Coach, both located in Marlow. The Hand And Flowers holds two Michelin stars, while The Coach has earned one.
Tom Kerridge Cooks Italy will air on ITV and ITVX in mid-July, consisting of six 30-minute episodes.
