Another Faithful was banished in Thursday's episode of Celebrity Traitors, with Jonathan Ross surviving through the second week of the hit BBC reality series. Traitors Jonathan, Alan Carr and Cat Burns began the fourth episode by “murdering” Ruth Codd, who had previously sought to target Jonathan in the round table debates.
The episode saw the contestants divided into two teams for a challenge where they had to match “banshee wails” to their respective voices. Stephen Fry obtained a “shield” during the challenge, ensuring his safety, while Cat secured one for herself. At the next round table, the majority of Faithfuls voted to banish Clare Balding.
Olympic diver Tom Daley spoke out after being “murdered” by the Traitors. “You know, it feels painful,” he said. “I went in there wanting to be a Traitor, mainly because I like control. But then as soon as I started playing as a Faithful, I loved that as well because then I wanted to regain as much control as possible.”
EastEnders actor Tameka Empson said she is “so upset” after being booted off the show, revealing that she mucked up her banishment speech. YouTube prankster Niko Omilana was the first to be banished, and told Ead Gamble on Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked he was embarrassed to be the first to go as he's “going to be mocked for this for a long time by my friends”.
Veteran British actor Celia Imrie provided the “TV moment of the year” by nervously breaking wind during a tense moment in the game. The 73-year-old Calendar Girls star made the audible sound when host Claudia Winkleman was introducing the latest challenge.
Jonathan Ross admitted on his podcast that he struggled with “being on the defence” all the time, and in a Twitter/X post, he said he “did not enjoy the duplicity as the game progressed”, calling the show “a tougher psychological challenge than I expected”. The Traitors continues on Wednesday night at 9pm on BBC One.
