Tess Daly appears to be embracing single life as she was recently seen enjoying a trip to New York to visit her eldest daughter, one month after announcing the end of her 22-year marriage to Vernon Kay.
Tess Daly's New York Adventure
The former Strictly Come Dancing host shared glimpses of her city break on social media, posting photos with and without her daughter. Fans noted her radiant single-girl glow in the images.
In one picture, Tess, 57, wore a patterned pink trouser ensemble while standing next to her look-alike daughter as they explored the Big Apple at night. Another photo showed her looking elegant in an all-white outfit, consisting of white shorts and a matching top, paired with a matching bag. During the day, the duo visited the Brooklyn Bridge and NBC Studios, enjoying the sights and sunshine.
Tess and her daughter Phoebe, 21, were seen together in New York. Tess captioned one post: "NYC with my best girls #HelloGorgeous." Another post read: "Over and out NYC."
Life After the Split
Tess and Vernon announced their separation last month, ending 22 years of marriage. Despite the split, the estranged couple have maintained a healthy relationship. They were recently spotted at Pub in the Park, drinking cocktails and beers with mutual friends, including actor Will Mellor. According to The Sun, Vernon was seen wearing his wedding ring as the pair danced to Craig David, and Tess has also been seen wearing her ring.
The former couple met at a BBC Christmas party in 2001 and married in 2003. They share two daughters, Phoebe and Amber, 16. Tess hosted Strictly Come Dancing from 2014 alongside the late Bruce Forsyth and later with Claudia Winkleman. After 21 years, she announced she was stepping down from the role.
In a joint video statement, Tess said: "After 21 wonderfully joyful years on Strictly, we have decided that the time is right to step aside and pass on the baton." Claudia added: "Strictly is a magical, glittery, fake tanned train and it's been a privilege to be a tiny part of it." They jointly said: "We have loved working as a duo and hosting Strictly has been an absolute dream. We were always going to leave together and now feels like the right time."
The statement continued: "We will have the greatest rest of this amazing series and we just want to say an enormous thank you to the BBC and to every single person who works on the show. They're the most brilliant team and we'll miss them every day. We will cry when we say the last 'keep dancing' but we will continue to say it to each other. Just possibly in tracksuit bottoms at home while holding some pizza. Tess & Claud."
