Tess Daly Visits Daughter After Vernon Kay Split

Tess Daly has made her first visit to see her daughter since the announcement of her split from Vernon Kay. The former Strictly Come Dancing host, 57, shared a series of snaps from her New York trip with her eldest daughter Phoebe, 21, weeks after the separation was made public.

A Glimpse into the Getaway

Tess offered fans a glimpse into her New York getaway, sharing a collection of photographs with and without her daughter. While followers appreciated the window into her city escape, another eye-catching element from her images was her radiant single woman glow that shone through the posts. In one photograph, Tess was captured in a patterned pink trouser outfit standing beside her lookalike daughter as they discovered the Big Apple after dark. In another image, Tess appears sophisticated in an all-white ensemble, sporting white shorts with a coordinating top and completing her outfit with a matching handbag.

Exploring the City

This time around, Tess was savouring the city during daylight hours. The pair explored Brooklyn Bridge and were also photographed at NBC Studios, with Tess and Phoebe spotted taking in the attractions and sunshine. Tess wrote alongside one of her uploads: "NYC with my best girls #HelloGorgeous." Her second post was accompanied by the words: "Over and out NYC."

Amicable Relationship

Despite their break-up, the separated pair have preserved an amicable relationship. They were spotted at Pub in the Park, sipping cocktails and beers alongside mutual friends, including actor Will Mellor. According to The Sun, Vernon was observed sporting his wedding ring while the duo danced to Craig David. Tess has also been spotted wearing her ring as well.

Background of the Couple

The former Strictly Come Dancing presenter wed Vernon in 2003 and they share two daughters, Phoebe and Amber, 16. Following their initial encounter at a BBC Christmas gathering in 2001, it was evidently love at first sight. Tess subsequently secured her career-defining position presenting Strictly in 2014, working alongside the late Bruce Forsyth.

Departure from Strictly

Following 21 years of presenting, the mother-of-two revealed she was departing from her role which she co-presented with Claudia Winkleman. The duo released their announcement through a video message. Tess declared: "After 21 wonderfully, joyful years on Strictly, we have decided that the time is right to step aside and pass on the baton." Claudia subsequently added: "Strictly is a magical, glittery, fake tanned train and it's been a privilege to be a tiny part of it." The presenting duo then declared together: "We have loved working as a duo and hosting Strictly has been an absolute dream. We were always going to leave together and now feels like the right time." Their announcement continued: "We will have the greatest rest of this amazing series and we just want to say an enormous thank you to the BBC and to every single person who works on the show. They're the most brilliant team and we'll miss them every day. We will cry when we say the last 'keep dancing' but we will continue to say it to each other. Just possibly in tracksuit bottoms at home while holding some pizza. Tess and Claud."
