Taylor Swift has set fans' pulses racing about a possible new album just weeks ahead of her marriage to Travis Kelce, after being photographed entering the iconic Electric Lady Studios in New York.
Studio Visit Sparks Speculation
The 36-year-old singer, due to marry the Kansas City Chiefs tight end on July 3 in New York City, was spotted heading into the Greenwich Village studios on Monday, June 15. Dressed in a form-fitting tan top, loose high-waisted jeans, and platform heels, she carried a brown shoulder bag and wore her blonde hair loose as she arrived for the evening session.
Swift has visited the studios for numerous projects throughout the years, chiefly recording her 2019 album Lover and sections of 2020's Folklore there, alongside portions of both 2022's Midnights and 2024's Tortured Poets Department. She also laid down the re-recordings of her earlier albums there too, with Fearless (Taylor's Version), Red (Taylor's Version), Speak Now (Taylor's Version), and 1989 (Taylor's Version) all being captured there.
Fan Reactions
Given her track record with the studios, many of her devotees voiced their enthusiasm on social media after photographs of her at the studio emerged. "It's giving Midnights! ! !" one fan remarked on Instagram, while another pondered, "She knows EXACTLY what she's doing." "TS13 is cooking," a third chimed in.
Whenever Swift opts to drop her next record, it'll be momentous for devotees as it marks her 13th studio album – and the number 13 has long held special significance for the singer. While she's yet to formally announce fresh material or hint at any countdown, she did recently unveil a new track for Toy Story 5, titled I Knew It, I Knew You.
Wedding Buzz
The buzz intensifies as supporters keenly anticipate her nuptials, almost three years since she and Kelce first started their romance. Considerable speculation surrounds which A-list stars have secured coveted invitations to the ceremony, which ranks amongst several major occasions scheduled across New York in coming weeks, hot on the heels of the Knicks' NBA Championship triumph and World Cup fixtures at Met Life Stadium.
New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani even acknowledged the couple's wedding as amongst the city's most significant events during a press briefing about World Cup security arrangements, revealing he hadn't received an invitation but nonetheless extended his best wishes. "I am fully confident in the work of the NYPD, as well as our state partners, in delivering that safe experience. We are the biggest city in the country," Mamdani said. "We are used to big events, and we are incredibly excited for this one. We know it coincides with the Knicks' [NBA] Finals run. We know it coincides with July 4, America 250, Taylor Swift's wedding–all happening at the same time–and we are so excited to welcome the world here."
