Tattoo Artist's Deliberately 'Awful' Inks Go Viral

A tattoo artist known for giving customers designs that purposefully look bad has gone viral on TikTok. Janedoe Thundear, based in Pittsburgh, creates tattoos with jagged, shaky lines that are intended to appear rough around the edges.

In a video viewed over three million times, Thundear showcased a devil with goat legs holding a pitchfork, accompanied by a speech bubble reading 'Do sins bro!'. Despite the intentionally messy style, many viewers criticised the work, questioning how one specialises in such a style.

However, supporters defended the artist, noting that the tattoos are well-executed in terms of technique. One commenter explained: 'The point is it’s tattooed well… meaning correctly… meaning it looks like a kids art, but the tattoo is gonna be clean, last long, and heal evenly.' Another added: 'It takes talent to be a great artist... but it takes a great artist to make bad art.'

Thundear remains unfazed by the criticism, stating in the comments: 'Their grumpy comments mean more visibility for me.' The video has amassed over 628,000 likes and 3,400 comments.
