Sofia Richie and Elliot Grainge have welcomed their second child, a baby boy named Henry Cecil Grainge. The 27-year-old model and fashion designer announced the birth on Instagram on March 25, sharing a photo of Henry dressed in a blue onesie, cradled by his older sister Eloise, who was born in May 2024. Henry was born on March 18.
Richie captioned the post 'Loves of my life,' prompting an outpouring of congratulations from followers. One commented, 'Henry!!!!!!!!!' while another wrote, 'Welcome to the world Henry,' and a third added, 'Henry Cecil that's soooo cute!!'
Richie and Grainge, a 32-year-old music executive and son of Sir Lucian Grainge, began dating in 2021. Grainge proposed the following year, and the couple married in the south of France in 2023.
Richie has been open about the challenges of motherhood. In an interview with InStyle last year, she discussed postpartum struggles, saying, 'It's shocking how little we hear about aftercare or what you might experience postpartum.' She praised Baby2Baby for distributing essential information, such as safe sleep practices for infants.
Reflecting on her own postpartum experience, Richie said, 'In my case, it was mental health. Thankfully, I had the resources to manage my postpartum struggles – but it immediately made me think of the women who don't.' She emphasized the importance of supporting mothers, adding, 'Mom is the source. Mom has to be okay for everything else to run smoothly.'
Richie previously shared that her pregnancy with Eloise involved complications. At 32 weeks, she was diagnosed with active labor and spent six days in hospital, followed by six weeks on bed rest before being induced. She recalled, 'I gave birth and I was like, 'Wow, I really did that.' I have my beautiful daughter. I'm healthy. I'm safe. She's healthy. She's safe.'
