Sinitta, the 62-year-old singer known for hits like 'So Macho', has disclosed that she has been in a secret relationship with a man outside the entertainment industry for the past two years. The revelation came during an appearance on the Bank Holiday edition of Loose Women, where she spoke about her private life.
The pop star, who recently participated in I'm A Celebrity...South Africa, explained that she and her partner decided to step back from their relationship when she entered the jungle due to the high-profile nature of the show. 'He's much more afraid than I am,' she said, adding that her partner is a 'Leeds lad' with a great sense of humour but is not accustomed to the spotlight.
Sinitta, who has previously been in a long-term on-and-off relationship with Simon Cowell, said she wanted to protect her new partner from the pressures of showbiz. She described him as her 'little Harry Redknapp', referring to the football manager known for his charisma.
During her time in the jungle, Sinitta also reflected on her past relationship with Cowell, admitting she 'genuinely believed they were going to get married' but that he was not a faithful boyfriend. She noted that Cowell has now found his 'proper person' with Lauren Silverman, with whom he has a son, Eric.
