Shirlie Kemp Plans Epic Christmas Party For Martin's I'm A Celeb Return
Shirlie Kemp's Christmas Party For Martin's Return

Shirlie Kemp has unveiled the spectacular homecoming she has planned for her husband, Spandau Ballet star Martin Kemp, following his stint on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

A Festive Welcome Home

The 63-year-old shared that Martin, 64, had one specific request before heading into the Australian jungle. 'Before Martin headed off to the jungle he asked me if I could plan a huge Christmas party for his return,' Shirlie told The Sun.

Eager to host their loved ones, Shirlie has thrown herself into organising the perfect celebration. 'I love an excuse to host our family, friends and neighbours so I’ve been keeping myself busy in planning mode,' she explained. Understanding that Martin will likely be starving after his jungle diet, she is prioritising the catering.

'I’m going to go all out with decorations, music, food, cocktails and all of our favourite people at home with us to celebrate his return,' Shirlie added, promising a truly memorable event.

Jungle Confessions Cause Family Stir

While Shirlie plans the party, Martin has been making headlines inside the camp. During a racy campfire chat, the musician didn't hold back, sharing intimate details about their marriage and revealing the sex position that helped them conceive.

Martin recounted to his campmates that before they married, the couple were struggling to get pregnant due to Shirlie's endometriosis. He then shared a surprising anecdote about a question Shirlie's mother posed in her living room: 'Now have you tried the wheelbarrow?'

The star then stood up to demonstrate the 'wheelbarrow' position, with fellow contestant Ruby Wax also giving it a try, much to the amusement of the camp.

Son Roman's Mortified Reaction

Watching from home, the couple's 32-year-old son, Roman Kemp, was less than impressed with his father's candid revelations. The presenter took to X, formerly Twitter, to voice his outrage.

He shared a meme of Homer Simpson pouring bleach into his eyes, captioned: 'My dad’s talking about “wheelbarrowing” with my mum…#ImACeleb', followed by the exasperated query, 'Banter aside. wtf.'

Shirlie herself added a shocked emoji to an I'm A Celeb social media post, watching as her husband divulged their bedroom secrets to the nation.

Secrets of a Lasting Marriage

Amid the more colourful revelations, Martin also shared touching insights into his long-lasting marriage to the Pepsi & Shirlie singer. The couple tied the knot in a low-key ceremony in St Lucia in 1988.

Describing their wedding day, Martin told his campmates, 'I got married in St Lucia on a clifftop overlooking the Caribbean with just three people', jokingly adding that the ceremony was so basic 'if you looked into it more you’d find we’re not married!'

In the Bush Telegraph, Martin credited friendship as the foundation of their nearly four-decade-long union. 'Shirlie is everything for me, everything I do in my life, I do it for her,' he said, offering a heartfelt glimpse into their enduring partnership.

The couple welcomed their daughter, Harley Moon, now 35, in 1989, a year after marrying, followed by the birth of their son, Roman, in 1993.
