Shirley Ballas Reveals Non-Surgical Facelift Before Strictly Return

Shirley Ballas, the head judge of Strictly Come Dancing, has revealed that a series of non-surgical cosmetic treatments have given her a 'new lease of life' ahead of the show's return. The 64-year-old dancer, who turned 64 recently, said the procedures have made her feel 'so confident and comfortable' in her own skin.

Ballas, who was born in Wallasey, had been considering a facelift in her early 60s due to concerns about sagging skin, sunspots, and spider veins. However, she opted for a non-invasive approach, undergoing monthly NeoGen nitrogen plasma sessions with Dr Johanna Ward at a clinic near Harley Street over the past year.

The NeoGen treatment uses super-heated nitrogen gas to stimulate collagen and elastin production, which Dr Ward says 'tricks your skin into boosting levels' of these structural proteins. Ballas described the results as 'remarkable', noting a tightening of her jawline and reduction of loose skin on her neck and jowls, as well as the elimination of sunspots and red marks.

Ballas, who has a low pain threshold, said the treatments are bearable with numbing cream and involve minimal downtime. She also used Tenplus electrolyte sachets and G Herbal SKIN supplements to enhance results. She will now have quarterly top-up sessions to maintain the effects.
