Sharon Stone's Flawless Appearance Fuels Cosmetic Surgery Debate
Hollywood legend Sharon Stone, the iconic star of Basic Instinct, turned heads and sparked widespread speculation this week with a strikingly youthful appearance on the red carpet. The 68-year-old actress, known for her blonde bombshell looks, attended an event at SiriusXM Studios in New York City on Wednesday afternoon, where her exceptionally taut and wrinkle-free face immediately drew comments and questions online.
Social Media Abuzz with Facelift Theories
Observers quickly took to platforms like X and Reddit to voice their suspicions. "Did Sharon pull a Kris Jenner and have a major facelift?" one user questioned on X, referencing the reality TV star known for her cosmetic procedures. Another added on Reddit, "Miss Stone looks like she got nip tucked. How on earth does she look so fresh at 68?" The actress's complexion was notably smooth, devoid of even age spots, as she glowed with pink-toned makeup and wore her flaxen hair in soft, flowing waves.
Stone's Stunning Outfit and Past Denials
Stone's ensemble for the event was equally eye-catching. She sported a blood-red leather jacket layered over a black top, paired with dark khaki slacks featuring stylish leg slits. In one photograph, she posed alongside television host Andy Cohen. Despite the rampant rumours, Stone has consistently denied undergoing cosmetic surgery in the past. In a 2013 interview with America's NEW YOU magazine, she revealed, "I can't tell you how many doctors try to sell me a facelift. I've even gone as far as having someone talk me into it, but when I went over and looked at pictures of myself, I thought, what are they going to lift?"
Embracing the Art of Aging Naturally
The actress elaborated on her philosophy towards aging, stating, "Yes, I have come close - but frankly, I think that in the art of aging well there's this sexuality to having those imperfections. It's sensual." Stone expressed that she isn't concerned about facial changes as she grows older, noting that she has gained prominent cheekbones over time, which she feels compensate for other features that may have diminished. "People are afraid of changing; that they're losing something. They don't understand that they are also gaining something," she explained. "I thought I lost the deep vortex on my eyelid that you have when you're younger, but I gained almost a kind of beautiful abyss. As I lost the fullness in my face, I got in these great cheekbones."
A Balanced View on Cosmetic Procedures
However, Stone did acknowledge that surgery can be appropriate for some individuals, though she advocated for stricter pre-procedure guidelines. "If you have things that you want to fix, you should go right ahead and fix them. I don’t think there is anything wrong with cosmetic surgery at all. I think it’s great. But I don’t think it’s alright to distort yourself," she said. She suggested that "it would be great if there were qualified therapists in plastic surgeons’ offices, and that people would go to a therapeutic meeting before plastic surgery. I think that should be part of the FDA requirement."
Proof of Timeless Beauty
Adding to the intrigue, Stone has previously shared throwback photos from her early modelling days at age 19, showcasing her natural beauty from the start. Images from her career, including scenes with Michael Douglas in the 1992 film Basic Instinct and a bikini photo at age 62 shared on Instagram, further highlight her enduring allure and consistent appearance over the decades.
