Sarah Jessica Parker has shared a heartfelt message on social media to mark what would have been her parents' 56th wedding anniversary, paying tribute to her late stepfather, Paul Forste, who died two years ago.
The Sex and the City actress posted a photograph of her parents kissing on their wedding day, describing it as a picture of happiness. In a lengthy caption, she recalled being a flower girl at the ceremony alongside her sister, while her brothers served as ring bearers.
Parker wrote: 'Today would be my parents 56th anniversary were it not for my father passing 2 years ago. I love this photo. I can stare at it for great stretches of time. Weren't they beautiful?' She went on to describe her mother's dress and the braid in her hair, as well as her father's wool wedding suit.
The actress also shared how her mother was spending the day, attending the wedding of a close friend's granddaughter. Parker said her mother woke up missing her husband but was pleased to pass on the special date to the bride.
Paul Forste died in 2022 at age 76 after an unexpected and rapid illness. At the time, Parker paid tribute on social media, writing: 'Paul Giffin Forste 1946-2022 Godspeed. RIP. Strong like a bull. Til the end.' A family statement described him as a man of loving kindness who delighted in his 13 grandchildren.
