A mother-of-two who had previously overcome cancer was tragically found dead in bed by her 16-year-old daughter, her family has confirmed. Sarah Thompson, 34, from Connah's Quay, North Wales, had been looking forward to attending a concert and had bought a new outfit for the occasion before her sudden death.
Ms Thompson was diagnosed with cancer in 2018 and underwent surgery that left her unable to speak for eight months. Despite her struggles, she was described as 'full of life' and a devoted mother to her children, Paige, 16, and Zaine.
Her mother, Gail, said: 'She was really popular and had a huge group of friends. She absolutely loved going to concerts. She was due to go to one at the O2 Academy in Liverpool on Tuesday. She'd bought a new outfit for it especially.'
The cause of Ms Thompson's death has not been revealed. A GoFundMe page has been set up to cover funeral costs, with any remaining funds to be left for her children. More than £3,000 has been raised so far, and mourners have been encouraged to wear bright colours at the funeral next week.
Friends have described Ms Thompson as generous and always willing to help others. Her family said they are struggling to come to terms with the loss, describing it as a 'huge shock'.
