Sarah Fisher Dead: Inbetweeners' Emily Head Leads Tribute to 'Extraordinary' Animal Welfare Mum
Sarah Fisher dead: Anthony Head's partner remembered by daughters

The entertainment and animal welfare worlds are in mourning following the death of Sarah Fisher, the long-term partner of actor Anthony Head and mother to actresses Emily and Daisy Head. She was 61.

Daughters' Heartbreaking Announcement

News of her passing was shared in a poignant joint statement by her daughters, posted to the social media page of Tilley Farm, the 90-acre Somerset property she ran. Emily Head, 37, best known for playing Carli D'Amato in The Inbetweeners, and Daisy Head, 34, revealed their mother died recently "with very little warning."

"We are so sorry to have to share the news that our extraordinary, kind and talented mother, Sarah, passed away recently," they wrote. "It is immensely shocking to us all... No words could ever express all that she encompassed, or begin to describe the crater her absence has left."

The sisters expressed immense pride in their mother's legacy, stating: "We know how profoundly she has impacted the lives of so many." They described their grief as boundless, mourning the loss of her "incredibly unique and irreplaceable spirit."

A Life Dedicated to Animal Welfare

Sarah Fisher, born in Epsom, Surrey, was a dedicated and respected figure in animal advocacy. She was an ambassador for Battersea Dogs And Cats Home and a patron of the Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary in Bristol.

Peter Laurie, Battersea's chief executive, paid tribute to a "beloved friend and ambassador," highlighting her hands-on support. "Sarah, alongside her partner Anthony Head, gave so much to our charity, fostering dogs, using her canine behaviour expertise to train our staff and volunteers, and attending many of our events and fundraisers," he said. "She will be dearly missed by all of us at Battersea."

Pauline Leeson, founder of Holly Hedge, said Fisher's death came as a shock, describing her as "the most genuine, caring and compassionate human being" and "a voice for those dear souls who have no voice." She added: "Sarah will be a huge loss to the animal kingdom she worked so tirelessly for."

A Family's Private Grief

Sarah Fisher married actor Anthony Head in 1982. The couple had two daughters together before their separation. Anthony Head, famed for roles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Little Britain, and Ted Lasso, has not yet made a public statement regarding her passing.

In their tribute, Emily and Daisy Head thanked their mother's wide circle of friends and collaborators, saying: "We know how much she treasured the relationships she had... and we thank you all for being a part of her enriched life." Daisy Head, whose acting credits include Guilt and The Syndicate, is set to appear in the forthcoming period drama The Gray House on Prime Video in February.

The family's focus remains on private mourning as they grapple with the sudden loss of a woman remembered for her extraordinary compassion and unwavering dedication to animal welfare.
