Samia Longchambon, best known for her role as Maria Connor on Coronation Street, once dated her co-star Will Thorp before their relationship suddenly ended. The couple met on the set of the ITV soap, where their characters Maria and Chris Gray also fell in love.
A Relationship That Fizzled Out
Samia and Will moved in together after getting together on the cobbles. However, their romance came to an end in December 2012 while Samia was training for Dancing on Ice. A source told the Sunday People at the time: "Samia is happily single. The relationship just fizzled out and ran its course. Will was having to spend a lot of time down south and working away while Samia is still living up north."
Another insider added: "Samia and Will seemed very settled after the initial fuss. They seemed happy and enjoyed home life. But sadly they grew apart."
Samia's Life Now
Today, Samia is happily married to French professional ice skater Sylvain Longchambon, whom she met on Dancing on Ice in 2013. The couple tied the knot in August 2016 and have a son named Yves Joseph Longchambon, born in 2015. Samia also has a daughter from her previous marriage to property developer Matthew Smith, born in October 2009.

On the show, Maria is currently suspicious that her husband Gary (Mikey North) is having an affair with Sarah (Tina O'Brien). In a recent episode, Maria caught them hugging and confided in friends Izzy and Fiz about her fears.
