Simon Cowell has left fans stunned after sharing a rare photo of his son Eric, 11, who they say looks 'so grown up'. The music mogul, 65, posted a snap with the pre-teen and his pet chihuahua, Daisy, backstage during filming of the quarter-finals of America's Got Talent (AGT).
In the Instagram carousel, Cowell wore his signature black T-shirt and sat in a chair, while Eric, donning a blue AGT T-shirt, smiled with an arm around his father. The post also included a video of the live audience and a backstage selfie. 'Everyone's happy,' the Syco founder captioned the post, shared on Thursday.
Fans flooded the comments, with one writing: 'That couldn't be Eric. I feel soooooo old now.' Another added: 'Eric is the image of you. Wow he's so grown up. Lovely to see.' A third remarked: 'Oh my goodness I remember when he was born. Can't believe how big he is, Handsome like his dad!'
Cowell, who shares Eric with fiancée Lauren Silverman, 48, previously described his son as 'headstrong' and an excellent judge on talent shows. Speaking on Loose Women, he said: 'Oh my God yes, non-stop by the way. I have a good idea what he's going to be when older. He's got his own opinion and he's his own man.'
The family swapped London for a £8 million farmhouse in the Cotswolds in 2021, following break-ins at their former home in Holland Park. Cowell, who once vowed never to marry or have children, said fatherhood was 'the best thing' to happen to him.
