Ruth Langsford, 65, has declared she is 'going younger' in the dating scene following her separation from husband Eamonn Holmes, 66, in 2024. The Loose Women presenter made the revelation during a chat with close friend Rylan Clark on his BBC Radio 2 show on Saturday.
Rylan jokingly branded Ruth a 'cougar' after she expressed interest in younger men. The conversation arose when Ruth recalled a childhood crush on a friend's older brother, noting that he would now be 'too old' for her. When Rylan asked if she would date older, she replied: 'I'm going younger!'
Ruth and Eamonn, who co-hosted This Morning for years, ended their 14-year marriage in 2024. Eamonn has since moved on with Katie Alexander, a counsellor 22 years his junior. Ruth has previously described feeling 'devastated and broken' by the unexpected end of what she thought was a 'happy marriage'.
During the radio interview, Ruth praised Rylan for his support during her difficult time, calling him a great friend. Rylan, in turn, offered to take her out on the town, joking he would 'raffle her off to the highest bidder'.
