His family issued a poignant tribute, stating: "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Roger Cook, who died peacefully on Saturday after a short illness. Alongside a distinguished and award-winning career in journalism, Roger was first and foremost a beloved husband and father. Career Highlights

Born in New Zealand, Cook moved to Australia where he began his career with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. He later relocated to London in the late 1960s and joined the BBC. He established and fronted Radio 4 programme Checkpoint, which was later adapted for ITV as The Cook Report. The programme won a BAFTA in 1997 along with several other accolades. Cook also contributed to BBC radio and television programmes including Newsnight.

His fearless approach to investigative journalism set a new standard, and his work led to significant legal reforms. He is survived by his wife and family, who have requested privacy during this difficult time.
