Richard Keys, the 66-year-old former Sky Sports presenter, has married Lucie Rose, 35, in a £20,000 ceremony in Kingswear, Devon. The couple exchanged vows in an open-air civil ceremony beside the River Dart, with Keys wearing a cream Hugo Boss suit and Rose in a stunning wedding gown. However, the joyous occasion was overshadowed by the absence of Keys' two children, Jemma and Josh.
The relationship has caused a deep family rift. Keys was previously married to Julia for 36 years, but the marriage ended in 2016 after Julia discovered intimate WhatsApp messages from Rose on his phone. At the time, Julia was recovering from thyroid cancer. Keys has insisted that his wife was not suffering from cancer when the marriage collapsed.
Further complicating matters, Keys' daughter Jemma, a former Hollyoaks actress, revealed that Rose was her friend. Jemma sent abusive text messages to Rose, including one calling her 'the filthiest sl**', and was arrested and charged with harassment. Keys said Rose decided not to pursue the case because it 'was hurting me and would only have caused Jemma more harm'.
Keys and Rose were introduced in 2016 by a mutual acquaintance in Qatar, where Keys worked as a presenter for BeIn Sports. Keys proposed two years ago. Speaking ahead of the wedding, he said: 'I'm a very lucky man, although feeling a bit nervous... People think I might be a bit long in the tooth but I don't care.'
Keys' ex-wife Julia said she was unaware of the wedding until she received a text from Keys two hours before the ceremony. However, she publicly wished the couple well, stating: 'If that's what makes him happy then I'm happy for him. As for me it's all in the past now.'
