Reuben Owen has introduced a new member to his team on the popular Channel 5 series Life in the Dales. The young farmer, who shares the challenges and triumphs of farming life alongside his girlfriend Jess and friends Sonny and Capper, welcomed Martin, Jess' brother-in-law, as a new recruit.
New Addition to the Team
During Tuesday's episode, viewers watched as Reuben briefed Martin on their first task together: crushing concrete. With a playful tone, Reuben asked, "First day, what could possibly go wrong?" He later expressed relief at having a mechanic on board, stating, "I'm a lot more relaxed because we now have a mechanic."
The show revealed that Martin is married to Jess' sister Amelia and brings 17 years of experience with machinery, making him a valuable asset to Reuben's squad. Reuben admitted he initially thought Martin was joking about joining, while Martin confessed he had the same reaction.
Emotional Moments and Mental Health
Elsewhere in the episode, Sonny and Capper opened up about the deaths of close friends and men's mental health, sharing an emotional moment. The Life in the Dales team teased the episode on social media, highlighting the mix of tasks, including building a new play shed at Brough Castle Farm, and the heartfelt discussions.
