Fans instantly responded with heartfelt messages. One wrote: "Florence and Neville getting together! It took long enough but it was worth the wait. And also the entire first two seasons; Richard and Camille would’ve been a great couple, but it was too early in the show for interoffice romance."

Another fan said: "Missing Neville – my favourite detective on the island!" A third added: "I love every minute and watch it as often as I can. Neville and Humphrey are my favourite inspectors on Saint Marie. I hope you’re feeling good."

One more commented: "I loved how you changed from being scared of everything and when you first saw Harry. For me you were the best detective on Death in Paradise. I hope you come back one day and we get Neville back, you are sorely missed."

Little has moved on to other projects, including the upcoming TV series Hunting Alice Bell, but his connection with fans remains strong.
