Tributes have been paid to actor Peter Heppelthwaite, best known for his roles in EastEnders and the Only Fools and Horses spin-off The Green Green Grass, who has died at the age of 59.
Heartbreaking Announcement from Daughter
His daughter Georgia shared a poignant message online, stating: "After the most incredible fight, our epic dad, Peter Heppelthwaite, passed away peacefully yesterday holding our hands." She described him as a man who "never gave up, loved deeply, and was just unafraid of doing absolutely everything to the fullest."
Representatives Pay Tribute
Apollo Artist Management, his representatives, expressed their heartbreak, noting: "Peter was a hugely gifted actor, director, teacher and mentor, with a warmth and generosity that reached far beyond the work itself."
Career Highlights
Heppelthwaite's breakthrough came with a role on Two Point Four Children. He later played Linal in BBC's EastEnders during the 1990s. His most notable role was Jedd in The Green Green Grass, appearing in 30 episodes alongside Sue Holderness and John Challis.
A close friend recalled: "He taught me everything I know, not just about my profession but about life. He took me under his wing and that's where I stayed."
