Peter Andre on Age Gap with Wife Emily: 'It Really Works for Us'

Peter Andre has opened up about the 16-year age gap with his wife Emily MacDonagh, saying the dynamic 'works' for the couple. Writing in his New! Magazine column, the Mysterious Girl singer reflected on their relationship, noting that while age is just a number, there are occasional reminders of the difference—such as when Emily failed to recognise Jon Bon Jovi at an awards ceremony.

Andre recalled: 'We were at the Pride of Britain awards and Jon Bon Jovi came over to chat. He introduced himself to Emily and after he walked away, she turned to me and said, “Who was that?” I was like, “Are you serious? It’s Bon Jovi.”' The couple laughed about the incident, with Andre adding that such moments usually involve music or films, but overall they share the same interests.

The couple, who married in 2015, first met when Emily was 20 and Andre was 36, but did not start dating for two years. Andre also commented on Stephen Fry's 30-year age gap with his partner, saying: 'It all depends on the relationship... Who are we to judge?'

In his column, Andre also praised Jessie J for speaking publicly about her breast cancer diagnosis, calling it 'brave' and wishing her well. He shared updates on his daughter Princess, who recently passed her driving test, and teased upcoming projects including a new album and a 'very special' television announcement.
