September had felt like a long month, with summer over, children back at school and the nights drawing in. That made the arrival of pay day on Friday particularly welcome, with many people keen to let their hair down.
With stag and hen parties arriving in Newcastle for a weekend of celebrating, and the international break meaning United fans did not have to stay fresh for a match, STACK – the three-floor venue that opened at the end of last year – soon got busy. Colleagues enjoyed drinks at the end of the working week, and groups of mates settled at benches as live music began.
