Ozzy Osbourne may have performed his final concert, but close friends say the Black Sabbath legend is not ready to leave music behind, driven by a haunting memory of his father's death shortly after retirement.
The 76-year-old rocker delivered a thunderous farewell at Birmingham's Villa Park on Saturday, reuniting with original bandmates Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward. Despite serious health issues including Parkinson's disease and seven surgeries in five years, insiders say he is exploring ways to stay involved in music even if he cannot tour.
A close friend told The Mirror: 'Oz always thinks about his dad when it comes to retirement. His biggest worry is that the same thing will happen to him as it did to his father. That haunts him.' The friend added that working 'is what keeps Ozzy going' and that they would not be surprised if he performed again.
Outside music, Osbourne has kept busy with ventures including selling limited-edition iced tea cans he personally sipped, priced at £335 each, and a Where's Wally-style book titled 'Where is Ozzy?'
