Only Fools Fans Pay £450 to Meet Sir David Jason

Fans of the classic British sitcom Only Fools and Horses are being charged up to £450 for a photo opportunity with Sir David Jason, who played the iconic Del Boy. The 86-year-old actor is the headline guest at the annual convention held in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, this November.

Ticket Prices and Packages

A standard day ticket to the event costs £100. To secure a personal moment with Sir David, fans must purchase an additional meet-and-greet package priced between £250 and £450. The most expensive option includes a front-row seat at his on-stage talk. The replica set of the Trotters' flat from the BBC series serves as the backdrop for photos.

Strict Rules for Meeting Sir David

Organisers, who have run the convention since 2020, have implemented strict guidelines. Due to time constraints, Sir David will not sign any items over the weekend. Attendees are also asked not to give gifts, as this would consume time allocated for photos. Those without a paid meet-and-greet package are warned that Sir David will not take selfies at the event.

Sir David's Joy in Meeting Fans

Sir David has previously expressed his enjoyment in interacting with fans and occasionally slipping into his Del Boy persona. He said: "I do morph into Del sometimes to make people laugh. I enjoy it. I realise it’s a pretty low shot but it makes life easier for me on occasion. When I meet people sometimes, they’re a bit stiff and awkward to get on with."

Enduring Legacy of Only Fools and Horses

Only Fools and Horses first aired in 1981 and ran for seven series, followed by Christmas specials from 1991 to 2003. The 1996 episode Time on Our Hands, in which Del and Rodney finally become millionaires, drew over 24 million viewers. Last December, Sir David remarked: "The love for Only Fools has never faded."
