North West, the 12-year-old daughter of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, has released her debut EP, N0rth4ever, on 1 May. The six-track album, her first solo project, was accompanied by a music video for the lead track '#North4ever', in which she displays several facial piercings, including two in her cheek and one on the bridge of her nose.
The EP, listed as hip hop and rap on Apple Music, also features elements of metal. The lead track addresses mental health, with lyrics such as 'Know it's been a hard time for me lately, I've been deep in the dark, you can't save me' and references to 'fake' people. North signed with music label gamma in late 2025 and previously earned production credits on other artists' songs.
North's piercings have drawn criticism, but she has defended them on TikTok, writing over a video: 'This is for everyone that's mad over a finger piercing.' Kim Kardashian also defended her parenting on the Call Her Daddy podcast, saying, 'It makes her so happy. I would never take that creative [style] away from her.'
The piercings and North's new blue hair may be tied to plans for her own fashion and jewellery label, NOR11. Kim has filed three trademark applications for the brand, covering clothing, accessories, watches, jewellery, bags, and cosmetic cases. The trademarks were filed by KimYe's Kid Inc., with Kim listed as the only officer.
