Meg Mathews, the ex-wife of Oasis rocker Noel Gallagher, has sparked speculation of a reunion after sharing a cryptic social media post. The 59-year-old columnist took to Instagram to repost a Daily Mail article claiming she and Gallagher had 'come full circle' following his divorce from Sara MacDonald. Her caption simply read 'Part 2', echoing the article's headline 'Gallagher reunion: Part 2'.
Fans were quick to comment, with many expressing hope that the couple, who were married from 1997 to 2001 and share daughter Anaïs Gallagher, 25, have reconciled. One wrote: 'Are they back together? I hope so, you never ever get over first proper love or husband.' Another added: 'Did I not predict this before the tour or ask if you were back together, I'm such an old romantic, I'd love this.'
However, the post came just hours before Gallagher, 58, was seen leaving London's Chiltern Firehouse with his rumoured girlfriend, Sally Fielding. Representatives for both Gallagher and Mathews have been contacted for comment.
A source quoted in the Mail article, which Mathews shared, claimed: 'Noel and Meg are on really good terms again, it’s like they have gone full circle. Noel can be a tricky character, but Meg gets him, she knew him when he was in his 20s. ... Noel has had a horrid time. He was pretty scarred and upset by the whole divorce from Sara, but Meg was a rock.'
Mathews has been supportive of Gallagher's reunion with his brother Liam for the Oasis comeback tour, and attended the band's first concert in Cardiff on July 4 with their daughter.
