Nicolas Cage Opens Up About Fathering Three Children with Three Different Women

Nicolas Cage has candidly discussed his experience of being a father to three children, each from a different relationship. In an interview with the New Yorker, the 60-year-old actor described his parenting journey as 'all different experiences' and admitted it was not what he had originally envisioned.

Cage shares his eldest son Weston, 33, with ex-girlfriend Christina Fulton, and his son Kal-El, 18, with his third wife Alice Kim. His youngest daughter, August Francesca, 22 months, is with his fifth wife Riko Shibata. The actor noted that each child requires a different level of attention, and he feels a heightened sense of worry and protection for his first daughter.

Reflecting on fatherhood, Cage said it is 'like breathing' and that everything revolves around his daughter. He expressed a desire to be around for as long as possible, which has led him to take fewer physical risks. 'I want to be around for her as long as I can because, you know, she’s only going to be two, and I’m sixty,' he explained.

Cage also touched on his fear of television work, citing the pressure of limited time to prepare and the relentless shooting schedule. His indie horror film 'Longlegs' is set for release on July 12.
